The Cambridge International Examinations (C.I.E.) accreditation and full approval granted to Al-Azhar International College, Lokoja by the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom; in August 2016 is well-deserved. The school is the first and only school to have this honour in Kogi State. Nigeria.
With the Cambridge curriculum inculcated in the school’s existing Regional Examination Curriculum (WAEC) and Nigerian Curriculum (NECO), our students have unbridled exposure to world-class learning techniques which makes them the best products of ‘Knowledge Factories’.
Our Teachers now have their various University Degrees, petrified with most recent, world-applauded research works from renowned educational scientists of International repute. Teachers are sponsored to attend educational conferences where results, not experiments; facts not ideas; are catalogued to them which they in turn, radiate to their colleagues. This flavours the teaching and learning processes in Al-Azhar with international best practices of the teaching profession.
Pupils in the LBE3 (YEAR 6) write their Cambridge Primary Checkpoint, the JSS3 (YEAR 9) students are examined in Mathematics, English Language and Science in their Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint exams while the SS2 (YEARS 11) take their International General Certificate Examination (IGCSE). From SS3 (YEAR 12), our students are equipped to enroll in our Sixth Form School where full-time (AS&)A/LEVEL curriculum is administered.
With her age-long uncompromising standards, C.I.E’s approval for Al-Azhar International College sends a message to prospective parents that they are indeed making the best choice for their wards’ future.
