Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Zik-Rullahi
Born on August 1, 1979, in Aiyegunle-Gbedde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Zik-Rullahi is an accountant, academic, administrator, and management consultant. He had both his first and second Degrees in Accounting from the University of Abuja before proceeding to Bayero University, Kano where he obtained his Ph.D. Degree in Accounting. He has also received training and holds certifications in Innovation and Strategy from leading Universities around the globe including Harvard Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both of United States of America, as well as London Graduate School in the United Kingdom.
He is also being trained in High-Impact Leadership at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership among others. Apart from being an educational development strategist with a passion for tertiary institutions and revenue mobilization, he is a prolific writer and researcher, with numerous publications in both local and international journals to his credit. His versatility has also been projected through his consultancy in the management of international, national, and regional projects supported by the World Bank, United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP), and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
As a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, he is widely known to have contributed immensely to the growth and development of many Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Nigeria through training and capacity building, studies and surveys, research and development, project monitoring, and evaluation among others.
He led the team of consultants that monitored STEP-B (World Bank Assisted) Projects in all Unity Schools in the six states of North-Eastern Nigeria from August 2010 – July 2011. He presided over the team of researchers who conducted Research and Development into Food for Immediate Relief for the IDPs/Malnutrition Management Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Food Programme in Nigeria. He also led the team of consultants that assisted in the Actualizing and Implementing e-Government for Processes and Procedures in the Petroleum Sector. He has served as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer to a number of Local Governments during Gubernatorial and Presidential Elections among other vital national assignments.
Apart from being a lecturer in the Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Abuja, he is serving on the board of a number of educational and institutional organizations and trusts. In all his academic pursuits and sojourn through life, he has always been privileged to either be elected or appointed into leadership roles and positions. Dr. Zik who is married with children enjoys playing Chess, Golf, Lawn Tennis, and engaging in charity works. He brings his wealth of experience to the Board as the Chairman, Board of Governors of Al-Azhar International College, Lokoja, Kogi State.
